Constant Pain from a Prolapsed Disc?

Imagine being able to:

  1. Encourage healing
  2. Relieve your pain
  3. Reduce your muscle tension
  4. Improve your circulation to the damaged area
  5. Increase your flexibility and range of motion

Inversion to an angle of 60 degrees will help you achieve that dream. So we would recommend that people with prolapsed disc try using a Teeter inversion table.

So how does Inversion Help a Prolapsed Disc?

Inversion (to around 60 degrees) will apply a gentle gravity based traction that will help reduce the pressure on the damaged disc that will often relieve pain and can encourage the damaged tissue to return to its proper place.

It will also increase the circulation to the damaged disc which will increase waste elimination in that area and encourage healing.

Prolapsed Discs-Slipped discs and Herniated Discs

To understand why inversion therapy will help, it is useful to understand more about prolapsed discs. A prolapsed disc or herniated disc is often referred to as a 'slipped disc' and although the two conditions are slightly different both benefit.

The spine consists of vertebrae that are separated by shock-absorbing discs. If one these discs pushes out or bulges from between the vertebrae it is said to be 'prolapsed' but if the tough outer wrapping of the disc ruptures it is termed a herniated disc.

Medical Studies Support Inversion for Prolapsed Discs

Inverting to around 60 degrees has been found to offer significant improvements for conditions such as herniated disc or prolapsed disc. Few people know, but even when laying down studies have shown that the pressure inside your discs can be as much as 25% of your body weight*1, due to the pressure applied by the ligaments surrounding the spine. Only at 60 degrees of inversion does the pressure fall to zero.

Medical studies support many of the anecdotal reports.

“My wife suffered from severe sciatica for four months… Finally I purchased your inversion table. In less than one week she was sleeping again and the pain had diminished considerably. Purchasing your inversion table was the best thing we ever did.”
- J. Luper

I have lower back pain and sciatica. The honest truth is before I ever inverted… I would have to crawl out of the bed in the morning. The pain was so bad. As long as I invert, there is no signs of pain-
